About Me

Raegan Maier is a self-taught Saskatchewan artist who has been creating her whole life. During her childhood and teen years, she won several awards for her artwork, and this helped to inspire in her a passion for creation. Raegan’s art has evolved over the years from an exploration of diverse techniques and mediums, including drawing, painting, pottery, wood-work, gardening, and cake decorating to name a few.
It was in 2011, while decorating a birthday cake for her oldest son's first birthday, Raegan found her passion, figurative sculpture. Sculpture has provided her with a means of reconnecting with herself, her creativity, and with other inspired individuals, not to mention a much needed stress relief. She has developed a charming, light-hearted and perceptive style for portraying her view of the world around her. She continues to be amazed and delighted with the transformation wire, foil, polymer clay, wool, fabric and other material takes on when the unique personality filled character of each piece develops. She loves to include a sense of fantasy, magic, and mysticism in each sculpture.
Raegan is a juried member of the Saskatchewan Craft Council and a member of the Regina Weavers and Spinners Guild. She has created numerous commissioned works of art which can be found in private collections throughout Canada and the United States. Raegan is actively exploring felt as a new medium.
